We are recruiting for an ARC Discovery Project developing next-generation technologies for lunar positioning, navigation and timing (Lunar PNT) at UNSW Sydney.

Opportunities

3-year Postdoctoral Fellow in Lunar Positioning and Timing
Fully funded 3-year PhD scholarship, including a stipend at the current UNSW PhD scholarship rate (A$39,206 per annum tax-free, 2026 rate) and tuition-fee support for eligible candidates.

The project is supervised by Professor Andrew Dempster and Dr Yang Yang. It offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research in:

Positioning, navigation and timing (PNT/GNSS)
Estimation, filtering, and sensor fusion
Spacecraft navigation and autonomous systems
Cislunar dynamics (desirable, but not essential)

We welcome applicants from space engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, applied mathematics, and related disciplines with strong analytical and research skills.
